When Nøgne Ø decided to make it’s 500thbatch of beer, it was quickly established that the key numbers would be 5 malts, 5 hops, 10% alcohol and 100 IBUs. The result is an incredibly rich and hoppy Imperial IPA. Malty enough to be almost a barley wine, but intensely fruity, mainly because it is dry hopped with generous amounts of Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand.

German Pale Ale

This particular beer style can be traced back to 1906 and international law forbids us naming it accordingly to it`s geographical origin. But since it`s German, light and has a delicate malt sweetness, we´ve chosen to call it our German Pale Ale.

A beer where it is all about hops. As we just could not decide which, we used hops from all over the world: England, Slovenia, New Zealand, Czech Republic, USA, Germany and Australia.

This beer might have been our only compromise. Norwegians are dead scared of dark beers. This is an attempt to show that there are gentle dark ales. Havrestout is smooth and drinkable. Try pairing it with a red meat dish, or give your vanila ice cram a small dash before serving.

We think the Russian tsar would have liked his stout this way. A dark rich ale with a generous sweetness and roasted malt bitterness. Great with vanilla ice cream or dark chocolate.

Why should an alcohol free beer feel like a compromise? With a good selection of tastful malts and hops, we have brewed a rich beer with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Enjoy at 12 °C, preferably with vanilla ice cream.

Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. This malty, yet light bodied ale has a massive hop bitterness. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Vic Secret IPA

The Vic Secret hops has the perfect blend of pine and fruit. To allow this hop to shine we have created an IPA in a true west coast style. Unique in taste and aroma, this rather dry IPA will serve its purpose both as a thirst quencher and as a great companion to heavy and spiced meat dishes.

This Belgian Ale is what you could call a wit with an attitude. We are generous with all our ingredients - including both orange peel and coriander. This does not stop this ale from being a good companion with seafood dishes.
